Welcome to Bearwood Pre-School

We are a committee run Pre-School based in Bearwood, Bournemouth.

  • We are situated within Bearwood Primary and Nursery School in the Acorn area.
  • Our committee consists of parents, carers, friends and members of the community.
  • We give good quality care and education for children aged 2-5 years.
  • We are open from 9am-3pm Monday to Friday term time only.
  • You can choose your sessions as 9-12,12-3 or 9-3.

  • We offer fun activities both inside and outside all year round.
  • We have a secure outdoor play area with a soft play surface, a variety of activities and a digging area.
  • We have a planned EYFS curriculum, and each child had their own Tapestry Learning Journal which enables us to track their progress throughout their time with us.
  • To enable us to work closely in partnership with families you are able to access your childs account via a password to view and comment on your childs learning and help us to support your childs next steps.
  • We offer both funded sessions and fee-paying sessions and offer a collection from Bearwood school nursery to enable children to attend with us for the afternoon session.

We are OFSTED registered and insured with the Early Years Alliance.

We have two designated safeguarding leads who are responsible for overseeing the safeguarding and welfare needs of all the children in the setting. All staff are trained in safeguarding and they are committed to the policies of the setting in adhering to their responsibilities.

All staff are qualified in paediatric first aid.

We like to work in partnership with the local community and with Parents and Carers and offer a variety of resources that you can borrow from the setting including starting out bags, and play at home bags.
